History Graduate Student Association Conference

Loyola University Chicago

Loyola University Chicago’s History Graduate Student Association (HGSA) has been serving the interests of full-time and part-time graduate students for over a decade. Its purpose is to cultivate academic excellence and community among the graduate student body through workshops, conferences, informal gatherings, and the funding of student activities.

One of the most significant contributions of the HGSA is sponsoring a graduate history conference. Now in its seventeenth year, the conference brings together graduate students from around the world to share their research in a formal and friendly setting. With presenters and commentators from numerous fields of history, including but not limited to urban, public, gender, medieval, medical, political, social, and cultural, the annual conference is a perfect setting for both master’s and doctoral students to present their latest work. Held Saturday and Sunday, February 19-20, 2022 on Zoom and Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus, HGSA’s conference allows visitors to meet other scholars in their field, gain invaluable feedback on current research, and collaborate on work.
